ISO 29001

ISO/TS 29001 defines the quality management system for product and service supply organizations for the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries. The certification of this standard is for the manufacturers of equipments and materials of oil and gas industry, service providers to the oil and gas industry, purchasers of equipment, materials and services. Certification of this standard is also used by the Organizations which perform 2nd party auditing of their suppliers as well as for 3rd party certification. Oil and petrochemical industries are mostly exposed to the disastrous risks. Liquids which are used in the companies and are hazardous if not used properly can cause heavy damage to the environment and people. Protection of environment and continuity of business require high level of operational integrity. Requirements of ISO 29001 are similar to those of API Q1 system specifications. Unique sector requirements for design, development, production, installation and product services are also included in it.
